Activities designed to build skills, friendships, and confidence
From check-in to check-out — here's what your loved one's first overnight at Awaaz looks like.
Arrive, settle in, meet Brian, Dalia, and the team. A quick tour of both houses — no rush, no pressure.
Sit down together for lunch. Meet housemates, share a meal, and start to feel at home.
Hands-on practice — laundry, folding, organizing, home care. Real tasks, real confidence.
Out in the real world — a café run, Target visit, park walk, or local museum. Staff support every step.
Back home — stretch, decompress, share highlights from the outing.
Everyone helps — chopping, stirring, setting the table. Cooking as a team is one of the best parts of camp.
Board games, movie night, backyard hangout, or creative art time. Participants vote on the activity.
Staff capture 7-second video moments & notes to share with families. Personal hygiene and wind-down.
Comfortable room, familiar routine. Staff nearby overnight.
Wake up, personal hygiene, getting dressed — practicing the full morning routine with staff support.
Participants help prepare breakfast — eggs, toast, fruit. Setting the table, portioning food, cleaning up.
Morning movement — gentle yoga, a neighborhood walk, or a group stretch to start the day fresh.
Group share-out — what was your favorite moment? Staff share observations. Families can join if they'd like.
One last meal together before heading home. Staff share notes and a recap with families at pick-up.
Pick up between 2–4 PM. We'll have a care notes summary ready for families and next-steps conversation.
2-night, 3-night, and 5-night camps follow the same daily rhythm above — more nights means more outings, deeper skills practice, and stronger friendships. Activities rotate daily and are tailored to each participant's goals and interests.
Starting a new program is one of the hardest parts for families and participants alike. Trust takes time — for your loved one to feel safe, for staff to understand their rhythms, and for families to feel confident letting go, even briefly.
That's why we don't rush it. Our onboarding is designed for both sides to get to know each other — the participant explores at their own pace, staff learn what makes them thrive, and families stay close until everyone is ready for the next step.
Our two-house setup makes this possible — family stays right next door, so the first overnight never really feels like being away.
